The COTEK Doctrine

God

We believe in God who is omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience. God created all things including the heaven, the earth, and all that is in them, above them and under them through silence, thoughts, spoken word, action, manifestation, evaluation and progression. God is expressed through the triunity of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit who are indivisible, distinguishable, coeternal and coequal (Genesis 1:1-5, 26-27; John 1:1-3, Ephesians 4:1-4).

Our Doctrine
Jesus The Wayshower

We believe in the preexistence with God first, birth, life, ministry, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, intercession and Second Coming of Jesus Christ who is our Way-shower and example of what it means to be fully human and fully divine. We celebrate the fact that Christ lives in us through the sacraments of baptism, Holy Communion, marriage, blessing of children, anointing of oil for the sick, funerals and ordination (Mathew 19:13-15; Mark 16:15-16, I Corinthians 15:1-6, I Timothy 3:16, Titus 1:5, Hebrews 13:4).

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active and functioning in our lives, manifesting the character of God through the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance), the power of God through the gifts of the Spirit (word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers tongues and interpretation of tongues), and the offices of God through five-fold ministry (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastor, and teachers). Therefore, the Kingdom of God is manifested in us as righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Luke 17:20-21; John 14:15-17, 25-26, 26:7-13; Acts 1-2; Romans 8:8-17, 12:3-9, 14:17; 1 Corinthians 12:3-14; Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 4:11-16).

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the awakening of the consciousness to the truth that we are the children of God. Rather than a one-time event, we see salvation as a continuous unfolding of our wholeness and perfection as we follow the example of our Wayshower, Jesus Christ who is Savior, Christ, Lord of lords, King of kings and God of gods (John 17:17; Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10; I Thessalonians 21:1-7).

The Holy Bible

We believe that the Holy Bible is a sacred writ that teaches Kingdom Principles and Practices. It serves as our primary text and is a guide by which people can live holistically healthy, balanced, and well-rounded lives. The Kingdom of God is a system, form of government, a way of being, perceiving/seeing, thinking, speaking and behaving in which God is the center. Therefore, any thought, word, behavior, substance, or relationship that is not in alignment with the Kingdom of God within is to be reduced, avoided, and/or eliminated through the seven spiritual disciplines of prayer and meditation, fasting and forgiving, reading and studying the scriptures, praise and worship, stewardship of time, talents and treasure, fellowship with positive people and witnessing/sharing our testimonies with others (John 17:17; Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10; I Thessalonians 21:1-7).

The Church

We believe in individual and corporate praise and worship to God through the vehicles of songs, musical instruments, prayer, fasting, scripture reading, biblical stories, tithes, offerings, dance, meditation, and another act that brings glory to God. Therefore, the church is not a building, nor an activity. The universal church is the body of Christ worldwide and the local church is the gathering of the family of God for corporate worship and praise (Psalms 100:1, 150:1-6; Mathew 6:16-18, 23:23; Luke 18:1; Ephesians 5:18-35; Philippians 4:8; Colossians 3:15-16; II Timothy 2:15).

The Christ Consciousness

We believe that Jesus through his manifestation of the Christ consciousness defeated all negativity regardless of its name or form (Satan, demons, devils, evil, sickness, pain, disease, poverty, disharmony, etc.). That same Christ consciousness is available to all God’s children. Negative energy only has the power that people give it through their ignorance or forgetfulness of their divine nature. Therefore, we do not give negativity any place in our thoughts, words or actions. Following Jesus’ example, we cast out negativity through the development of our Christ consciousness, the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority of the scriptures (Mark 16:17-18, Luke 10:20, 47; Ephesians 4:27; Colossians 2:14-15; John 3:8).

Divine Nature

We believe that when our hearts are pure, we see God in every person, every place, and everything. As our Christ consciousness is developed, we manifest the Kingdom of God that is within us and function in the One Law which is Love. We regard each person as divine; therefore, we treat them with love and respect regardless of age, race, gender, orientation, socio-economic status, educational level, culture or family dynamic. Through the principles of unity and equality, God’s nature is revealed in, through and as us. Therefore, we boldly share our faith with the understanding that each person is made in the image/likeness of God, is on a path to manifest wholeness and has the power to change his/her environment  (Genesis 1:26-28; Mathew 5:8; John 1:4-6, 3:16-17)

Divine Provision

We believe that God has already given us all things that pertain to life both naturally and supernaturally. Therefore, we are to be good stewards of our time, talents, and treasure to glorify God, edify the Body of Christ, expand the Kingdom, help others, and better the earth (Mathew 25:1-30; II Peter 1:1-4; I John 3:17).

Christianity

We believe in the fundamentals of Christianity and follow the teachings of Christ. However, we are not bound by religion, denominationalism, or any institution or practice that oppresses people and promotes prejudice or discrimination of any kind. We focus on the Kingdom Principles of Divinity as manifested through Divine Nature, Divine Purpose, Divine Order, Divine Timing, Divine Provision and Divine Protection. We incorporate the Kingdom Practice of Prayer through Silence and Sound; Stillness and Movement; Fasting and Forgiving; Thanksgiving, Praise and Worship; Quoting Scriptures, Denials and Affirmations; Reading, Studying and Researching the Scriptures; Giving and Stewardship of our Time, Talent and Treasure; Visioning and Visualization; Meditation, Mindfulness and Breathing; Writing and Journaling; Witnessing and Sharing our Testimony with Others. We receive the Kingdom Promises of Prosperity as manifested as health, harmony in all relationships and wealth (Romans 14;1-3; II Corinthians 3:6; Galatians 5:1-6).
